This car was in a batch of 4 in-complete cars that were intended to be bodied by Vignale. This never happened and the car, described as 90% complete, was sold in 1956 through Road and Track magazine. It passed through 4 owners before being bought in 1998 by the present keeper. He has started the restoration by having the original engine, complete with Cunningham inlet manifolds, rebuilt by Dave Parker and fitting a 1952/3 alloy body by Maurice Gomm. A 4 speed transmission has also been fitted and the hubs converted to Jaguar wire wheel hubs whilst the originals have been retained as spares. The suspension and axle are original Cunningham items. The body had previously been fitted to a GP Alta and removed in the 60s when the Alta was restored to its original body configuration. A superb opportunity to build a historic 50s sports car to compete with the C types and Cobras.
