James obviously hadn’t seen enough snow in January so he set off for Austria to navigate on the Winter Trial Classic Rally. Once again his driver was Herman Maas in a 1967 Volvo 122S. The event had perfect conditions for a winter rally, enough of the white stuff to keep it interesting but not so much that the route was cancelled.
The route over 6 days took in Slovenia and the Czech Republic completing 2500 km. This year the Ross & Ewing team left at home could follow their progress, as all cars were fitted with a V-Tron tracker system which could be viewed online.
Improving on their result last year the duo finished a very impressive 8th overall and 2nd in class.
