Earlier this year Ross & Ewing announced that they were to sell a well known Riley, ‘The Bigley Special’, and donate a large proportion of the selling price to the cancer charity,
Odyssey. The company can now confirm that the extensively rallied car was
recently sold to an American collector and keen rally driver who will continue
to use it on European events.
Owner Roy Williams, who had successfully completed 9 Le Jogs in the car, said “I am delighted that the Bigley will continue to be campaigned in such
enthusiastic hands and that its sale has enabled me to donate £12,000 to a charity which is very close to my heart”.
James Ewing continued “having competed with Roy in the car on several occasions it was a pleasure to
handle the sale and help both an old friend and such a worthwhile cause”.
